Clearly not a rocking footrest
I wanted a fixed elevated surface and this delivers one. Once the platform is hooked into position, there is no intentional rocking or bounce. It keeps my setup consistent through long writing blocks.

Check your floor and expectations
The rocking action is as described, but the underside contact pieces behaved differently on my rug and hard floor. I prefer it on the rug with a clear area around me. More published detail about the underside materials would make choosing easier.
